Car history:
I purchased this beautiful '62, Dec 28, 2004 from Jason Scorzone at Unique Corvettes... By examining a photo of the NCRS judging sheets, and with some help, I located the owners/ restorers Alan & Gail Phillips that shared the vehicle history with me.
This is a 2 owner fuelie, NCRS restored by Alan Phillips in Northern California.
The car was originally sold in Chicago to Mr. Larry Anthony, where it was driven and drag raced for a little over a year. (Best 1/4 mile was "a little over 105" according to Larry). It was driven to San Jose and used as a daily driver until disassembled, all parts bagged, and parked in a garage for many years. Larry sold the car to Alan Phillips. Having restored several C-1's to Top Flight status, Alan shared his time, money and talent bringing this one back to life.... He sold it in order to facilitate a move to Australlia, to continue his land speed record, racing career. (Alan and Gail are absolutely wonderful people and a credit to the Corvette community)
This car is almost identical to my other fawn fuelie, 101775, and amazingly built the same week, only 2 or 3 days apart.
I am thankful to God and all that helped along the way.... I have met some wonderful people in the Corvette family.......
